A fitness chain endorsed by “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston is extending its reach to Northern Virginia.
Pvolve announced this week that it has signed a franchise agreement with Dr. Mona Keshtkaran for two studios in the region. The New York City-based company also has deals for its first franchises in Chicago and Seattle.
“Pvolve’s momentum continues as we welcome new franchise owners who are passionate about delivering an unparalleled fitness experience in their local communities,” Pvolve President Julie Cartwright said in a press release. “These entrepreneurs bring exceptional business acumen and a deep belief in our method, allowing us to expand strategically and ensure more people can experience the benefits of Pvolve firsthand.”
In the D.C. area, Tysons has been tapped for an initial location that will serve Vienna, McLean, Great Falls and Falls Church. A second studio is planned in Arlington.
Details, including the addresses of the studios, are still being finalized, a public relations representative for Pvolve told FFXnow.
A local nutritionist who practices in Vienna, Keshtkaran was drawn to Pvolve as a workout routine that she could recommend to patients.
“With a decades long career in health and wellness, Pvolve’s functional movement captivated her when looking for a fitness routine to recommend to her preventative medicine patients and she’s looking forward to bringing it to the community,” the spokesperson said.
According to its website, Pvolve was started in 2017 by entrepreneur Rachel Katzman, who was looking for a low-impact approach to fitness that “sculpted her body without the drain.” Aniston came on board in 2023 as an official partner after learning about the company through a friend and trying its workouts herself.
Pvolve offers services both at in-person studios and online with on-demand classes and a virtual, live studio. It has about 21 physical studios in the U.S. and Canada right now, with 50 more locations on the way, including one slated to open in Potomac, Maryland this year.
“Each new studio is expected to create 10 to 15 local jobs, foster economic development, and introduce more people to Pvolve’s smarter approach to fitness, which focuses on strength, longevity, and overall well-being,” the press release said.
The company also sells its specialized equipment, accessories and apparel, and a supplement protein drink, though that’s currently listed as “out of stock” in its online store.
