Get in the holiday spirit with a little help from Falls Church Presbyterian! The church’s Crooked Steeple Literary Festival launches its 2025-2026 season with a presentation by D.C. author Charles King.
Now in paperback, King’s book “Every Valley: The Desperate Lives and Troubled Times That Made Handel’s Messiah” chronicles the opera-worthy tale behind George Frideric Handel’s 18th century choral masterwork. He will be at Falls Church Presbyterian discussing his research process, Enlightenment-era politics, and the enduring legacy of Messiah.
This event is free to attend with an optional donation to benefit the festival. A bookseller from Bards Alley will be on hand with copies of “Every Valley” available for purchase and signing.
