A Maryland man is expected to be charged with murder for allegedly stabbing a woman to death in Annandale Friday night (Nov. 7).

Officers responded around 9:52 p.m. to the 3900 block of Terrence Drive for a report of an “unconscious and unresponsive” woman lying in the roadway, Fairfax County Police Department Capt. Jesse Katzman said in an initial update.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found Isha Koroma, 26, of Alexandria suffering from “upper body trauma” and declared her deceased, according to the FCPD.

Following an investigation that included a canvass of the area, interviews with witnesses and a search for surveillance footage of the incident or perpetrator, the FCPD announced on Saturday (Nov. 8) that it had identified Musa Kargbo, a 42-year-old Maryland resident, as a suspect in the stabbing.

Police believe that Kargbo travelled to Annandale and fatally stabbed Koroma but didn’t elaborate on a possible motivation.

“This does not appear to be a random act as the suspect and victim are believed to be known to each other,” the FCPD said.

Kargbo was arrested that morning in Lanham, Maryland, with help from the Prince George’s County Police Department. Once he’s extradited to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, he will be charged with second-degree murder, police said.

“Detectives continue to conduct interviews and process evidence recovered from the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal stabbing,” the FCPD said.
