Introducing WSHnow, a curated hub for local news about the D.C. region

The WSHnow home page on Feb. 18, 2026

Meet WSHnow, FFXnow’s newest sister site.

The recently launched website is designed to serve as a one-stop hub for local news from Fairfax County and other communities across the D.C. region.

From crime and politics to human interest stories and business updates, WSHnow brings together a variety of stories from FFXnow, ALXnow and ARLnow, partner sites like Popville and MoCoShow, and unrelated, competing media outlets, including local TV and radio stations, the Washington Business Journal, The 51st, Washington City Paper and what remains of the Washington Post.

We check 45 outlets several times an hour, and publish direct links to more than 100 stories over the course of a typical day.

The site’s goal is to showcase the many journalists still reporting on the D.C. region and to make it easier for readers to find news that’s relevant or of interest to them without having to rely on often-fickle social media and search engine algorithms.

To thrive, local news needs both dedicated reporters and readers (or viewers and listeners for TV and radio) who will support them by reading, sharing and subscribing to their work.

We hope you check out WSHnow and find it useful as a way to keep up with news sources you already trust and discover alternatives worth following.
