These special programs offer our community members living with Alzheimer’s and other neurocognitive disorders an engaging opportunity to access the creative spirit that still exists and is active in their brains generating connections and bringing joy. Medical research has proven that regular creative engagement supports brain activity as well as physical and emotional well-being in those dealing with neurocognitive disorders. Participants are given a docent tour of the Jo Ann Rose Gallery exhibit and then led through a hands-on art project based on the exhibit. The program is conducted by trained artists and dementia care certified trained staff. The program is appropriate for people experiencing levels 2-5 of impairment. All persons with dementia must be accompanied by a care-giver. Care-givers will be fully participating in the activity.
