TikTok pastor claimed ‘evil spirit’ was in woman before Merrifield sexual assault, police say

A TikTok pastor who was arrested last month claimed that an “evil spirit” was inside a woman’s genitalia before he allegedly sexually assaulted her last November, police said.

Marco Antonio Ocampos Zamora, a 36-year-old Harrisonburg man, reportedly assaulted the woman in Merrifield after coming into contact with her online and offering to give her an in-person “counseling session.”

According to court documents, Ocampos Zamora connected with the victim through WhatsApp and TikTok, where he has more than 320,000 followers.

He then drove to Merrifield on Nov. 24 and hosted the victim inside his vehicle, which was parked in the 2700 block of Prosperity Avenue.

“Marco told [the victim] that the evil spirit was in her vagina and that he would need to touch her stomach to get rid of it,” an FCPD detective wrote in a criminal complaint. “[The victim] was uncomfortable with the request and told Marco no.”

According to the complaint, Ocampos Zamora then moved the vehicle to another parking spot and told the victim to “get in the backseat to start the prayer to remove the spirit.”

Ocampos Zamora then reportedly unbuttoned the victim’s pants before assaulting her, according to the complaint.

“[The victim] tried to exit the vehicle, but Marco held her down by her stomach and blocked her in the vehicle … Marco told her that she couldn’t leave until he was done getting the spirit out,” the complaint said.

The woman reported the assault to police in December, leading to Ocampos Zamora’s arrest last month. He was taken into custody at his home on Feb. 27 by the Harrisonburg Police Department and later extradited to Fairfax County.

Ocampos Zamora has been charged with one count each of abduction with intent to defile and object sexual penetration by force — both felonies. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 18.

Police believe there may be additional victims who had online contact with Ocampos Zamora. They are encouraged to contact the FCPD’s Major Crimes Bureau or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Solvers.
