Four arrested in connection with Bailey’s Crossroads shooting

Four men — each younger than 25 years old — were taken into custody last week after a non-fatal shooting in Bailey’s Crossroads, police said.

Officers responded Thursday afternoon (March 19) to the 5500 block of Seminary Road after one man was reported to have been shot. Another man at the scene was reportedly assaulted, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Jaihoon Gard and 24-year-old Kawsar Sarwari, were taken into custody shortly after the incident after fleeing in a vehicle. The vehicle was located traveling on I-495 by a police helicopter, leading to their arrests.

After an initial investigation, two others were located and arrested on Friday (March 20): 21-year-old Farhad Sarwari and 20-year-old Hasib Hakimi.

Farhad Sarwari has been charged with malicious wounding after being identified as the gunman, police said.

Gard was charged with one count of simple assault and Hakimi was charged with one count of brandishing a firearm for their alleged roles in the incident. Kawsar Sarwari faces a drug possession charge.

Only Farhad Sawari remains in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center as the three other suspects have been released on bond, according to court records. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on June 10.
