Chocolate shop, mystery ‘Loopy Land’ and more coming to Tysons Corner Center

A Belgian chocolatier, a coffee kiosk and mysterious newcomer called Loopy Land are just some of the new retailers making their way to Tysons Corner Center.

Neuhaus Chocolates anticipates opening a store at the mall in late November, the company’s U.S. managing director Romain Tabaries told FFXnow.

Building plans currently under review by Fairfax County staff indicate that the chocolate shop will occupy 649 square feet on the mall’s second floor down the hall from Nordstrom.

According to Tabaries, the size and product offerings will be similar to what local residents can find at Neuhaus in the Mosaic District, where the chocolatier opened its first Virginia location in October 2022.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Neuhaus to connect with one of the premier shopping destinations serving the greater Washington D.C. and Baltimore area,” Tabaries said. “We are truly excited about this new chapter and look forward to bringing the best of Belgian chocolates to the Tysons Corner community.”

Neuhaus will join a robust lineup of sweet and dessert shops at Tysons Corner Center, including fellow European chocolate makers Venchi and Läderach, which both arrived in 2022.

Harry & David closing up shop

As one source of chocolate prepares to enter, another is bidding farewell to Tysons Corner Center.

Harry & David will shutter its pop-up store on the mall’s second floor above Wasabi by the end of May, according to store manager Bruce Hughart. The exact final day of business hadn’t been confirmed yet when FFXnow stopped by earlier this month.

Opened in Tysons on Oct. 13, the shop was intended to be a holiday gift destination, selling the Oregon-based, mail-order company’s signature truffles, Moose Munch popcorn, jams and other goodies through the end of 2025. However, property owner Macerich agreed to extend its lease by a couple of months, Hughart said.

It’s unclear what will fill the space next, but ahead of the closure, Harry & David is clearing its inventory with a 50% off sale.

Blue Bottle Coffee confirms location

FFXnow previously noted that “coming soon” signs have popped up for Blue Bottle Coffee as well as the mattress store Casper and a 7th Avenue sofa showroom.

While Casper and 7th Avenue didn’t respond to requests for comment by press time, a public relations representative for Blue Bottle confirmed that the coffee maker is planning to open a location at Tysons Corner Center “in the coming months.”

“As Blue Bottle continues to grow thoughtfully, we’re excited about the opportunity to bring our coffee to Tysons Corner Center,” the spokesperson said. “This location will be a smaller-format kiosk designed to serve guests efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining the quality, care, and hospitality that define the Blue Bottle experience.”

Located on the mall’s first floor in Fashion Court near Gap, the kiosk will be Blue Bottle’s first retail location in Virginia, though the chain has four stores in D.C., including at Union Station.

Blue Bottle was founded in the early 2000s as a cart by James Freeman, who was a part-time clarinetist before he started roasting his own coffee beans at home and selling them at farmers’ markets. The company was later acquired by Nestle, which announced in April that it’s selling the brand to China-based Centurium Capital.

Though the business has grown, Blue Bottle indicated it has retained the same priorities that Freeman had when he began roasting coffee in his Oakland, California, apartment.

“Blue Bottle Coffee was founded with a simple goal: to serve delicious coffee,” the PR representative said. “Today, we continue to focus on delivering high-quality coffee with care and precision at every step — from sourcing and roasting to brewing and hospitality.”

County community services room relocates

Fairfax County’s Community Services Room has moved down a level to the mall’s first floor near Nordstrom.

Opened in March, the new space is “slightly larger” but offers the same services that have been available since the facility opened in July 2023, Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) spokesperson Cristin Bratt told FFXnow.

That includes computers with free internet access, teen programs and library services, domestic and sexual violence services, and resources for Latino, immigrant and English-learning youth and families from the nonprofit Edu-Futuro.

For a period, the room’s new location bore the name “Fairfax County Community Center,” but Bratt confirmed that was a mistake.

“The mall accidentally titled the new location as Fairfax County Community Center; we are working with them to correct the name,” she said. “The name remains the Community Services Room at Tysons Corner Center.”

Is Tysons Corner Center getting an arcade?

In early May, a temporary wall advertising a business called Loopy Land appeared on the mall’s first floor in the former Lord & Taylor wing, where Dick’s House of Sport and the play area/cafe Tiny’s Corner are also in the works.

As some Reddit users speculated, the retro-blocky font and an arrow pointing to the word “GAMES” in all-caps suggests a video game or arcade venue.

However, further clues are limited, as Loopy Land doesn’t seem to have a website or social media presence, and no permits have been filed with Fairfax County under its name, as of press time. A limited liability company — Loopy Land Tysons Corner LLC — was registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission on Nov. 12, 2025, but its listed office address is the same as the mall’s (1961 Chain Bridge Road).

A spokesperson for Tysons Corner Center didn’t respond to a request for comment by press time.

Other recent changes at the mall worth noting:

A couple eateries have closed — While Maggiano’s waits in the east wing, meal options have dwindled this spring, with BengBeng Chicken and Grill and Maman Joon following the departures of the Turkish restaurant Gagawa and the crepe kiosk Charlotte Artisanal.

It’s not clear yet what will replace BengBeng in the third-floor food court, but signs and permit filings indicate Joe & the Juice — a juice bar and cafe chain started in Copenhagen — is taking over the storefront filled by Maman Joon since 2023.

Mavi Jeans is now open — Opened in April, Mavi occupies approximately 4,024 square feet on the mall’s second floor next to Macy’s, per its occupancy permit. This is the first Virginia store for the Turkish jeans maker, which also opened a boutique at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda last month.

More fashion retail on the way — Coming soon signs have also emerged for the menswear brand Bylt and shoemaker Ecco. The former will open a store on the second level next to Everlane, while the latter will be on the first floor next to Express.
