FCPD: Man charged with sexually abusing boy in Woodlawn

A Woodlawn man was arrested on Wednesday (June 17) after allegedly inappropriately touching a boy in a bathroom stall, police say.

Officers were called to the 8100 block of Fernlake Court on Tuesday (June 16) at around 7:10 p.m. for a report of a sexual assault, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers learned that a 9-year-old boy was in a bathroom stall when an unknown male entered and inappropriately touched him,” the FCPD said in a press release published last night (Thursday).

Police didn’t specify the exact location of the incident, but the address is in the Pinewood Lake neighborhood.

Patrol officers, the department’s Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit and detectives from its Sex Crimes Unit identified 43-year-old Charles Vincent Jones II as the suspect, the FCPD said.

He was found in the 8000 block of Pantano Place on Wednesday (June 17) and taken into custody, police said.

Currently in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond, Jones has been charged with aggravated sexual battery of a victim under 13. If convicted of the felony, he could face anywhere from one to 20 years in state prison and a potential fine of up to $100,000 under Virginia law.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sept. 11 in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, online court records show.

Records suggest Jones previously faced assault and strangulation charges for an incident that occurred on April 20, 2025. The circumstances of that case are unclear, but the charges appear to have been dismissed at a preliminary hearing on Jan. 5.
