Fast-casual Chinese American restaurant Panda Express has opened its latest location in Herndon with a ribbon cutting Monday (Aug. 10).
The new drive-thru location at 598 Elden Street had a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The restaurant also provided a $1,000 check donation to Reston-based nonprofit Cornerstones and free T-shirts for the first 88 customers in line at the grand opening.
“Our entire Panda team is grateful to be joining the Herndon community while providing new jobs and supporting local organizations through various fundraising opportunities,” said Huaning Pi, the area coach of operations for Panda Express. “We hope to be a lasting part of the community and welcome all guests into our doors to try our American Chinese favorites and discover their own.”
The Panda Express menu features both build-your-own and pre-set rice and noodle bowls and plates. Diners will find the chain’s signature Original Orange Chicken, the new Hot Orange Chicken and other familiar favorites.
The drive-thru restaurant features the chain’s “Panda Home” restaurant design incorporating American elements and Chinese visuals like red lanterns, a moon gate portal and Chinatown signs.
The 598 Elden Street location was formerly home to a Burger King. The new Panda Express joins ten existing Panda Express sites in Fairfax County, including ones in Tysons Corner Center, Fair Oaks Mall, Fort Belvoir and Greenbriar Town Center.
