Even after 37 years of business in Tysons, MyFlorist continues to evolve.
The flower shop has launched Tysons Corner Wine and Gourmet, a spin-off concept that can be found inside its longtime storefront at 1984 Chain Bridge Road.
“Located in the heart of the Tysons and McLean community, the store is designed to serve everything from an easy weeknight bottle to a memorable hostess gift or premium corporate order, with plans to keep expanding its gourmet and gifting offerings as the shop grows,” a press release said.
Welcoming its first customers with a grand opening today (Monday), Tysons Corner Wine and Gourmet was conceived as an “alternative” to traditional wine shops that centers “uncommon wines from around the world,” according to the release.
While classic labels from countries like France, Italy and Spain are sold, the store’s offerings emphasize smaller producers and harder-to-find bottles from regions less traditionally heralded for their wine, such as Portugal, Georgia, Greece, Turkey and Armenia.
Customers can pair the wines with a range of chocolates, cheeses, crackers and other gourmet food, along with floral bouquets from MyFlorist, which has been serving the D.C. region from Tysons since 1989.
Both pre-arranged and customizable gift basket options are available for individuals and local businesses.
“We wanted to create the kind of wine shop we would want to visit ourselves — somewhere approachable, beautifully curated and personal,” Mia Flora, owner of both MyFlorist and Tysons Wine, said in the release. “You don’t have to be a wine expert to come in. Tell us what you’re having for dinner, what you normally enjoy or how much you’d like to spend, and we’ll help you find something you’ll be excited to take home.”
MyFlorist is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The business is typically closed on Sundays except when Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day fall on that day of the week.
Tysons Corner Wine and Gourmet is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
