McLean Community Center Asks for Feedback on Budget Proposal

By Brian Trompeter

The McLean Community Center (MCC) Governing Board is inviting residents of the tax district that funds the center’s operations to participate in upcoming meetings to discuss a budget for the fiscal year that begins in July 2024.

The first meeting is slated for Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m., during which the proposed fiscal 2025 budget will be examined by Governing Board members. The preliminary consolidated budget then will be posted at www.mcleancenter.org and will be available in person beginning Sept. 14.

The fiscal 2025 budget public hearing on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. will give residents another opportunity to comment on the center’s budget proposal. Residents who wish to speak at the hearing should call (703) 790-0123 to have their names placed on a speakers’ list.

District residents who cannot attend the hearing can send written comments to the MCC Governing Board by mail at McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, Va. 22101. Residents also can e-mail remarks to MCC executive director Elizabeth May-Salazar at feedback@mcleancenter.org. Comments will be accepted through Oct. 6.

The Governing Board is expected to approve the fiscal 2025 budget at its Oct. 25 meeting. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will approve the final draft budget proposal next spring.
