A pedestrian is fighting for her life after she was struck by a driver in the University Mall parking lot this morning (Monday).
Officers and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department responders were dispatched at 11:07 a.m. to the shopping center in the 10600 block of Braddock Road for the crash.
“An adult female was struck by a vehicle and transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the Fairfax County Police Department said in a social media post at 12:26 p.m.
The driver remained at the scene of the crash and didn’t experience any injuries, police said.
Few other details about the crash were immediately available, including the type of vehicle involved, though fire department scanner traffic suggests it might have been a “truck.”
“Crash Reconstruction detectives are investigating,” the FCPD said.
Anchored by Giant Food, University Mall is located just south of George Mason University’s Fairfax campus near the Kings Park West neighborhood.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured. The crash occurred in the parking lot. Crash Reconstruction detectives are investigating. (2/2)
