Police say a Loudoun County man was behind three sexual assault and exposure cases that all occurred in Fairfax County at least two decades ago.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives used DNA to identify Edward Eugene Pottmyer, 58, of Chantilly as the suspect in a 1998 sexual assault in Fair Lakes, a 2000 assault in the Penderbrook area and a 2004 exposure incident in Burke.
The Town of Herndon is looking to improve the designs of Ferndale Avenue and the Park Avenue and Monroe Street intersection, two spots with histories of crashes.
Staff with the town’s Department of Public Works will present their initial proposals for the two projects at a community meeting tonight (Thursday) in the town council’s chambers at 765 Lynn Street. Fairfax County leaders have opened the door for a supportive housing project in the Fair Oaks area proposed by Cornerstones, a Reston-based organization that provides housing, food and other services to people in need.

Work on an overhaul of Dominion Energy’s electric transmission line between Vienna and Idylwood is expected to start next month, the utility says.
