Priester has won more than 800 games and multiple post-season tournaments

In addition to winning his 800th career game as a high-school basketball coach this season, Fred Priester also was the recipient of another significant achievement when he was voted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame.


Seniors help Statesmen finish 10th in team standings

What already had been a standout season leading up to state tournament became much better for Soren Pirhoun when the Marshall Statesmen senior won the 215-pound Class 6 wrestling championship at the Virginia High School League event.


As third seed, Cougars finish 3-0 in the competition

For the third-seeded Oakton Cougars, it was deja vu all over again as the girls high-school basketball team went 3-0 to win the Concorde District tournament crown, including an upset for the second year over the higher-seeded Madison Warhawks in the semifinals.


Talented and speedy brothers lead the Huskies

Led by the talented and experienced Bermudez brothers and numerous younger and, at this point, less tested freshmen, the Flint Hill Huskies won the recent Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference boys swimming and diving team title.
