Banned Books Week Read-In at Bards Alley

Bards Alley is proud to join bookshops across the United States in commemorating Banned Books Week (October 5 – 11) with a read-in to protest ongoing censorship efforts. Stop by the store on Sunday, October 5 for a morning of literature and advocacy!

Organized in collaboration with Libro.fm and Silent Book Club, the read-in offers an opportunity to connect with fellow readers, share resources, and take action. We’ll provide supplies and contact information for a postcard-writing campaign so attendees can reach local representatives with their thoughts on book bans. All attendees are eligible to receive a free audiobook copy of “Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books” by Kirsten Miller, courtesy of Libro.fm.

Doors open at 10 a.m., with an hour set aside for silent reading and writing. Food/drinks and seating will be available, though individuals are welcome to bring a chair of their own for maximum comfort.

This is a ticketed event, requiring an $8 deposit that may be used on any Bards Alley purchase made the day of the read-in. Register at the link here:
