Baroque chamber music from Naples

The Church of the Holy Comforter, located at 543 Beulah Road NE in Vienna, will present a concert by Modern Musick, a period-instrument ensemble in residence at Georgetown University. Their program will feature works by composers active in 18th-century Naples, including keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti played on a replica of an instrument made in 1722 by Bartolomeo Cristofori, the inventor of the piano. Members of the group are Risa Browder (violin), Caitlin Cribbs (violin), John Moran (cello), and Dongsok Shin (fortepiano). The concert is free and open to the public, and a reception to meet the performers will follow the performance.
