Northern Virginia sculptor Cindy Stevens presents her first solo exhibition, Beauty in the Unexpected, in the Front Gallery of Building 5 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton.
An opening reception will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 6–9 p.m. The exhibition will remain on view through September 6, 2026.
The exhibition brings together sculptures inspired by animals and subjects that are often overlooked, feared, misunderstood, or dismissed. Through changes in scale, color, surface, and form, Stevens invites viewers to move beyond first impressions, discover the unexpected beauty revealed through curiosity, and reconnect with a world we may have forgotten we were missing.
The opening reception is free and open to the public.
