Giant Food Celebrates National Pet Month with Dog Adoption Event
McLean, VA – To honor National Pet Month, Giant Food, the leading grocery chain in the greater Washington, D.C. region, is partnering with the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation to host a dog adoption event at McLean Giant: 1454 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, Virginia 22101 on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
WHAT: Giant Food established a relationship with Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation through the Community Bag Program. The program allowed shoppers to support local nonprofit organizations by purchasing reusable bags, with $1 from each bag donated to a selected charity. Specifically, five Giant stores supported the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.
At the adoption events, brands like Purina donated dog treats and provided in-store coupons at the McLean store. Customers will have the opportunity to meet and adopt dogs like Luna, age 3, and Roller, age 7 at this event.
