Join local teacher and children’s author Marcie Atkins at the City of Fairfax Regional Library for an interactive, nature-themed story hour!
Atkins’s new picture book “When Twilight Comes: The Animals and Plants That Bring Dawn and Dusk to Life” introduces young explorers to a dazzling world of crepescular creatures, from skunks and fireflies to morning glories and evening primroses. These creatures, exquisitely depicted by illustrator Michelle Morin, thrive during the in-between times of sunrise and sunset, when humans are starting or ending their days.
The reading will be followed by a book signing (copies courtesy of Bards Alley), and attendees can take home a field guide to use in their own backyards or neighborhood parks! “When Twilight Comes” is recommended for kids 5 to 8 years old, but all ages are welcome. No registration is required.
