WASHINGTON (AP) — CIA turncoat Aldrich Ames, who betrayed Western intelligence assets to the Soviet Union and Russia in one of the most damaging intelligence breaches in U.S. history, has died in a Maryland prison. He was 84.

A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons confirmed Ames died Monday.

The woman who crashed into the main gate at the CIA’s McLean headquarters while driving drunk earlier this year has been found guilty of three charges.

A federal jury on Thursday (Oct. 2) convicted 27-year-old Monia Spadaro of driving under the influence, reckless driving and eluding police in connection with the May 22 incident, according to online court records.

The Washington Business Journal did a little snooping and discovered that McLean’s own Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is buying up a new office in Dulles.

A former CIA analyst will spend the next three years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to improperly sharing top secret national defense information.

Asif William Rahman, 34, of Vienna, was sentenced yesterday (Wednesday) to a total of 37 months in prison — down from the maximum possible sentence of 20 years.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Dolley Madison Blvd shortly before 4 a.m. to assist CIA Police with managing traffic after a “non-fatal shooting” on the intelligence agency’s property, the Fairfax County Police Department says.

Police set up a barricade at the CIA headquarters in McLean this morning (Wednesday) in response to a possibly armed man who appears to have been experiencing a mental health crisis.

Fairfax County police were dispatched shortly before 10 a.m. to assist the CIA police. Responders described a man with a gun to his head on a bench outside the facility’s security gate, according to the police scanner.

Asif Rahman, a 34-year-old resident of Vienna, used his security clearance to obtain classified documents that he then copied and shared with people who weren’t authorized to see them, according to the DOJ.
