A man is facing charges after he reportedly yelled and exposed himself to customers at a Walmart in Tysons, police say.
According to authorities, the 30-year-old man ran when Fairfax County Police Department officers responded to the department store in Tysons West around 3:15 p.m. on May 5. After his arrest, he allegedly offered authorities money to release him.
Vehicle pursuits have come to a near halt amid new rules to avoid overly aggressive policing that can endanger people and communities.
The Fairfax County Police Department recently reported that vehicle pursuits went from above 100 per year in 2019-2021 to one per month as of May 17.
In addition to adding more entries to the recent string of vehicle tampering incidents, the Vienna Police Department spent the week preceding Memorial Day weekend responding to crime reports that ranged from alarming to simply odd.
According to the weekly highlights for May 20-26, a citizen told Vienna police around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday (May 26) that he had overheard “two subjects inside a public transportation vehicle” discussing a bomb left at the Navy Federal Credit Union (820 Follin Lane SE).

A federal jury has convicted three gang members of killing a 21-year-old in 2019 after they abducted the man at a Fairfax County shopping plaza.
Peter Le, 24, of Dunn Loring; Young Yoo, 26, of Centreville; and Joseph Lamborn, 28, of California, were convicted in of murder, kidnapping, and other charges on Friday (May 6) in U.S. district court in Alexandria.

FCPD Seeks Help Finding Eyeglass Thieves — Fairfax County police are investigating a “smash-and-grab” larceny that occurred at My Eye Dr (6307 Richmond Highway) in Belle Haven on April 19. In a sequence of events that could’ve been ripped out of a pulpy crime thriller, a man in Vienna was reportedly taken for a ride and robbed at gunpoint — potentially by a trio spotted patronizing a local gun shop earlier that day.
Around 2:40 p.m. on April 9, the man was picked up by three men in a vehicle, one of them an acquaintance, at the Giant shopping center (359 Maple Avenue), according to the Vienna Police Department’s recap for the week of April 8-14.

Reston Man Indicted for Animal Cruelty — “Sheheryar Kamran, a 20-year-old resident of Reston, Virginia, was indicted on three federal charges related to animal cruelty for allegedly creating and posting videos on social media showing him abusing and killing hamsters. A person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries last night (Monday) after a shooting in Annandale, Fairfax County police said in a tweet.
Fairfax County Police Department said the shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Wadsworth Court, and they believe the suspect left the area in a car.
Thefts of auto parts and items inside cars have surged this year.
Last year, Fairfax County police found 1,019 incidents involved larcenies of vehicle parts and theft of personal property inside autos.
