Fairfax County Public Schools will join its neighbors in Arlington and Alexandria in opening two hours late tomorrow (Wednesday).

FCPS announced the two-hour delay in response to a Cold Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, which predicts that temperatures could drop as low as 5 degrees below zero tonight (Tuesday).


Countywide

Temperatures could drop below freezing overnight in Fairfax County, continuing a cold streak that took hold earlier today (Wednesday).

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning that will take effect from 1 to 9 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday), stating that sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit can be expected.

We’re a couple weeks into spring now, but that won’t stop a chill from settling in Fairfax County early tomorrow morning (Monday).

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory set to take effect in the D.C. area from midnight to 9 a.m.
