A man died after possibly being electrocuted while trimming tree branches in the Fairfax area near George Mason University this morning (Friday), Fairfax County Police Department wrote in a tweet.

The man was found suspended by a rope about 25 feet up in the tree when units from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department arrived around 8:30 a.m., the department reported.

Fairfax County police have filed charges against a 41-year-old woman from Annandale who drove into four pedestrians on May 20, resulting in one person’s death.

Joana Konadu has been charged with reckless driving for failure to keep a vehicle under control, the FCPD announced today (Thursday).

A man is facing charges after he reportedly yelled and exposed himself to customers at a Walmart in Tysons, police say.

According to authorities, the 30-year-old man ran when Fairfax County Police Department officers responded to the department store in Tysons West around 3:15 p.m. on May 5. After his arrest, he allegedly offered authorities money to release him.

The 27-year-old man found dead in a wooded area of Reston Tuesday (May 31) was likely killed sometime overnight, the Fairfax County Police Department said today (Thursday) in a press release.

A community member found Rene Alberto Pineda Sanchez of Reston on a walking path behind an apartment building in the 12000 block of Greywing Square, police said.

Eastbound Route 50 is completely closed in the West Falls Church area, as Fairfax County police and firefighters clean up a vehicle crash and fuel leak.

The panel, which reviews complaints of misconduct by the Fairfax County Police Department, uses the process to determine if a request should be reviewed by the entire panel, thereby expediting its other cases.

The two former Fairfax County Police Department officers accused of protecting a sex trafficking ring have denied the allegations and demanded proof in a lawsuit against them.

Michael O. Barbazette and Jason Mardocco denied any knowledge of or involvement in a sex trafficking ring that the victim who filed the lawsuit says forced her and other women to work as prostitutes.

Vehicle pursuits have come to a near halt amid new rules to avoid overly aggressive policing that can endanger people and communities.

The Fairfax County Police Department recently reported that vehicle pursuits went from above 100 per year in 2019-2021 to one per month as of May 17.

(Updated at 3:30 p.m.) A man was found dead in a wooded area in Reston this morning (Tuesday) in a suspected homicide, the Fairfax County Police Department said in a social media post.

Detectives arrived on the scene in the 12000 block of Greywing Square around 4 a.m. Police said the man was found with trauma to the upper body and was pronounced deceased.

An 83-year-old Annandale woman, Eileen Garnett, died yesterday morning (Wednesday) following a crash on Friday (May 20) where a driver crashed into four people in a parking lot, police said.

The crash in the 7200 block of Maple Place in Annandale involved four pedestrians who were discussing a community project, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
