Local police are seeking the public’s help to identify two persons of interests in a Herndon assault on the 700 block of Elden Street.

According to the Herndon Police Department, the individuals may have been involved in an aggravated assault that happened on March 13. The department tweeted a video that shows the two men.

Suspect in Attacks on Unhoused People Previously Jailed in Fairfax County — “Gerald Brevard III, 30, had been in and out of jail in D.C., Virginia and Maryland on varying charges including assaulting a police officer and shoplifting, court records show. Most recently he served several months in Fairfax County jail after he was arrested on an abduction charge that was reduced to misdemeanor assault in a plea agreement.” [The Washington Post]

Man Arrested for Herndon Sexual Assault — “Andy Josue Calix Mejia, 23, of Sterling was arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile last year in the Town of Herndon, according police…The incident happened March 25, 2021, in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.” [Patch]

Hopefully, you’re not a habitual Herndon parking ticket recipient, but anyone who does wind up with a ticket may notice a difference in the citations.

Herndon Police Department has implemented a new electronic parking ticket system. While there are still handwritten tickets, you may come across the new type that appear more like a store receipt, the department says.

(Updated at 3:51 pm) Herndon Police officers have arrested a Herndon resident in connection with a malicious wounding earlier today (Thursday).

Police are in the 1100 block of Dublin Place and arrested Dimitri Pike, 23, of Herndon. He was charged with malicious wounding of a victim that was known to him.
