Several county-run farmers markets are returning for the spring season this month with the remainder opening soon after.

The Fairfax County Park Authority operates 10 farmers markets across the county where residents can pick up fresh veggies, fruit, meat, and other locally produced goodies.

(Updated at 3 p.m. on 4/12/2023) Pollo Campero is opening a new restaurant in the Town of Herndon.

The business plans to build a new nearly 3,000-square-foot restaurant at 1131 Elden Street, according to town documents. The restaurant announced its intention in 2021 to relocate from 496 Elden Street to the new location.

The popular outdoor concert series, Friday Night Live!, will return to the Herndon Town Green on May 5.

Organizers released the schedule for the program’s 29th season earlier this week.

The Town of Herndon is considering a proposal to demolish two historic structures on the Adams-Green Funeral Home property.

At a Historic District Review Board work session yesterday (Wednesday), staff recommended denying the proposal to demolish a historic house at 724 Elden Street and and a historic carriage house near the primary house.

A new Korean barbecue and hot pot restaurant called H Pot is coming soon to Herndon Centre.

A representative for real estate agency A.J. Dwoskin & Associates, Inc., which manages the property, declined to provide any information about the new business, including contact information for the owner.

No property tax rate increases are proposed in the Town of Herndon’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2024.

The $62.5 million budget, submitted by town manager Bill Ashton II, represents a 9% increase over last year’s budget.

Taco Bamba is bringing its traditional tacos and some items with a local twist to Herndon next week.

The fast-casual taqueria will open its ninth location on April 4 at the Village Center at Dulles Shopping Plaza (2445 Centreville Road).

A new rental community for older adults has officially opened its doors in Herndon.

Brightview Senior Living opened its 46th community at Dulles Corner (13700 Magna Way) this month. The 196-unit apartment building is part of a project with a library, fitness studios, pub, movie theater, salon and art studio, along with an outdoor garden area with a covered porch.
