The Town of Vienna is looking to further illuminate its regulations for outdoor lighting after adopting new standards last year with a comprehensive zoning code overhaul.

The town’s Department of Planning and Zoning will hold two information sessions tomorrow (Wednesday) — one geared toward local businesses and the other for residents — to share its plans for updating the rules and gather feedback.

Under construction since early 2024, The Grove on Park condominiums at 133 Park Street NE are on track to deliver their first completed units by the end of this year, likely in late November, according to The Mayhood Company, which is managing sales of the homes.

Pulte Home Company is planning to build two apartment buildings in the existing Caywood at Woodland Park office complex near the Herndon Metro Station.

The proposed development is set to go before the Fairfax County Planning Commission tonight (Wednesday). If approved, the county would rezone the 12-acre site from planned development commercial to residential in order to allow 72 multi-family residential units across two five-story buildings.

Those buying homes across Fairfax County in September paid, on average, 5.5% more per square foot for their acquisitions than those who made a purchase a year earlier.

The average per-square-foot housing cost of $365 in September 2024 across Fairfax was up from $346 in September 2023, according to figures reported Thursday (Oct. 10) by Bright MLS, based on data from MarketStats by ShowingTime.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has approved a new mixed-use development near the Huntington Metro Station.

Located at the corner of Huntington Avenue and Metroview Parkway in the Mount Vernon District, the 85-foot-tall building will include up to 200 residential units and nearly 9,000 square feet of commercial space.

A plan to redevelop Van Buren Office Park in Herndon into a mostly residential development could be the first test case of a soon-to-be established zoning district in the Town of Herndon.

Rooney Properties, owner of the office park at 250 Exchange Place, wants to replace the five existing office buildings and surface parking with a 400-unit multi-family residential building and garage as well as 66 townhouse units.
