Tysons continues to have the priciest apartment-rental costs in the D.C. region.

The median Tysons apartment-rental price in September was $2,654 ($2,414 for one-bedroom units and $2,894 for two bedrooms), according to figures reported last Thursday (Oct. 3) by Apartment List.

Space in Herndon’s Woodland Park neighborhood that was previously approved for office uses could flip instead into a mostly residential building.

The Texas-based developer Trammell Crow Residential has purchased the contract for a little over three acres of vacant land at the intersection of the Dulles Airport Access Road and Monroe Street so it can construct an apartment building with 320 units and nearly 118,000 square feet of storage space.

The developer Mandrake Capital Partners is seeking to build 240 townhomes and 18 multifamily units on roughly 12 acres of land at the southwestern corner of the Dulles Technology Drive and Sunrise Valley Driver intersection, according to an application submitted to Fairfax County on Sept. 13.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a comprehensive plan amendment on Tuesday, Sept. 10 that supports residential development and increased development intensity at a site that previously housed the Parkway Woods office building (12801 Fair Lakes Parkway).

Two residential buildings planned for Kingstowne Towne Center might move forward without any retail.

The developer Halle Companies is seeking to remove a requirement that the 9-story buildings include non-residential uses on their ground floor, according to a rezoning application submitted to Fairfax County on Monday (Sept. 9).

Fairfax County will review its property deeds to remove clauses that historically barred non-Caucasian individuals from owning or leasing property in specific neighborhoods.

In response to new research revealing the prevalence of racially restrictive covenants in Northern Virginia property deeds, the Board of Supervisors, led by Dan Storck and Rodney Lusk, unanimously approved a board matter yesterday (Tuesday) to allocate resources for eliminating any segregation-era language from county-owned property deeds and assisting private property owners in doing the same.
