A new restaurant is getting ready to open at Capital One Center in Tysons.

Ometeo — a new Tex-Mex concept from a former “Top Chef” winner and the team behind The Salt Line — is expected to open in Capital One’s headquarters building at 1640 Capital One Drive next week, according to a sneak peek from Eater DC.

The successor to Vienna’s popular Amphora Restaurant has arrived, bringing high-end cuisine and cocktails.

The Maple Room Restaurant and Lounge opened at 377 Maple Avenue on Sunday (Nov. 26), meeting its stated goal of a November launch. An employee confirmed the opening but declined to comment for now, as the restaurant is still getting settled in.

The chain bb.q Chicken opened its newest location this morning (Monday) at 8603 Westwood Center Drive, a company spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow.

A Korean fried chicken restaurant based in Centreville has spread its wings to Vienna, adopting a new name in the process.

Oh My Dak quietly opened at 128 Maple Avenue West in late October, according to Min Kim, who operates the eatery with her husband Joseph Kim. It takes the place of Rose Kabob, which closed last November after serving up Persian cuisine for 16 years.

A Thai restaurant is on its way to Chesterbrook Shopping Center (6224 Old Dominion Drive) in McLean, though it will be some time before its doors open.

Sorn Thai will be a new concept from the team behind Donsak, a Thai restaurant that opened in D.C.’s Woodley Park neighborhood last November, property owner Federal Realty announced.

Restauranteur Zong Chen, one of the operators of Luna Hall DC (625 H Street NW), has leased 6,800 square feet on the ground floor of 8201 Greensboro Drive, a 12-story office building near Tysons Galleria, the Washington Business Journal reported yesterday.

The Dunn Loring Metro station’s new “beerstro” is set to pour its first official brew tomorrow (Thursday).

The Casual Pint, a pub specializing in craft beer, will throw a grand opening celebration for its Dunn Loring franchise (2676 Avenir Place, Unit F), starting with a first toast at noon, according to a media advisory.

A chain restaurant dedicated to wood-fired grilling has its first Fairfax County location in the works.

Firebirds, which specializes in hand-cut steaks and seafood, is set to open in Franconia at Festival at Manchester Lakes (7027A Manchester Blvd, Unit 28), a shopping center at the corner of Manchester Blvd and Beulah Street.
