Reston Association’s Board of Directors is contemplating three options for the future of Shadowood Recreation Area, an aging facility with a 20-meter pool that has been shuttered for more than two years.

RA’s Park and Recreation Advisory Committee formally recommended in January that RA reopen the pool after a major renovation effort. But in previous meetings, board members suggested refurbishments — far less extensive than those recommended by PRAC — were more appropriate.

Expanded DMV Service Starts Today — “The Virginia DMV will offer both appointments and walk-in service Monday through Friday at all 75 locations starting Wednesday, March 2, Secretary of Transportation Shep Miller said in a news release. Local Students Learn About Russia-Ukraine Conflict — A political science and current affairs class at Langley High School has turned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine into a central topic of discussion. A new development of four-story townhomes near the Herndon Metro station is slated for a summer opening.

Reston Arboretum, a development by Pulte Homes, will feature 40 townhomes with rooftop terraces near the intersection of Sunrise Valley Drive and Milburn Lane in Reston.
