A man was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital with critical injuries Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed at the McDonald’s in Bailey’s Crossroads.

Fairfax County police were dispatched to the fast food restaurant at 5603 Leesburg Pike around 2:19 p.m., according to police scanner traffic.

A man who fled the U.S. shortly after being accused of the 1991 killing of his estranged wife in West Falls Church will sit behind bars for the next two decades.

Jose Lazaro Cruz, 60, was sentenced yesterday (Thursday) to 20 years in prison for the stabbing death of Ana Jurado, which occurred more than 30 years ago in the 3100 block of Cofer Road.

The au pair accused of shooting and killing a man as part of a 2023 double murder in the Frying Pan area entered a plea deal today (Tuesday), ultimately pleading guilty to the amended charge of manslaughter.

Vladimir Garcia Montes faces up to 40 years in prison for a charge of felony homicide, a form of second-degree murder involving an accidental killing while committing another felony, according to state law. A 77-year-old Fair Oaks man has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly stabbing and killing his wife at their home in the Highland Oaks neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 3900 block of Highland Oaks Drive in Fair Oaks for a report of a stabbing at 6:18 p.m. on Monday (July 29), according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

An au pair linked to a fatal shooting last year in Herndon has been officially charged with murder.

On Monday (April 15), a grand jury indicted Juliana Peres Magalhaes, a 23-year-old live-in au pair from Brazil, on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm, according to a press release from Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano.
