Compass Real Estate — one of the largest independent real estate brokerages in the country — plans to set up shop in Reston.
The New York-based company, which went public last year amid the pandemic and a housing bubble, has signed a lease in Reston Town Center, according to county permits.
It is set to occupy space at 11943 Democracy Drive in Reston.
Founded in 2012 by Ori Allon and Robert Reffkin, Compass operates throughout the country, with Virginia offices in Arlington and McLean. The company describes itself as a modern-era real estate firm that has agents and a proprietary platform to help clients navigate the process of finding and selling homes.
The company did not return multiple requests for comment from FFXnow, but a spokesperson for Boston Properties confirmed that it signed a lease.
Compass has over 26,000 agents in 69 markets, according to a company press release.
Its services include a customer relationship platform that provides agents with a detailed list of clients who are likely to sell. Another tool called Compass Concierge allows the business to front the cost of home improvements for sellers, according to the company.
