Smoothie King stakes out Vienna for new franchise

Another health-focused juice bar is laying claim to territory in the Town of Vienna, joining the likes of South Block and Greenheart Juice Bar and Cafe.

The Texas-based chain Smoothie King will take over the space at 258 Maple Ave East that Savvy Rest Natural Bedroom vacated last summer after 10 years in the town.

A public relations representative for Smoothie King said the company wasn’t ready to comment on the upcoming store yet, but they confirmed that a fall coronation could be in store.

“We are working with a local operator to target a fall opening,” the spokesperson told FFXnow by email.

Started in 1973 as a home experiment by founder Steve Kuhnau, Smoothie King opened its first franchise in New Orleans. It emphasizes the nutrition of its smoothies and its use of organic vegetables and whole fruits with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.

Though the business says it has more than 1,300 franchises worldwide, the Vienna store will only be its fourth in the Fairfax County area, joining locations in Fairfax, Fort Belvoir and Tysons.

Though no external changes have been made to the building yet, Smoothie King has obtained permits from Fairfax County to renovate the interior. It also got signs approved by the Vienna Board of Architectural Review on July 21.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
