International bakery Paris Baguette slated to open in Springfield this fall

The international bakery and cafe Paris Baguette is slated to open another franchise in Springfield later this fall.

Known for its French-style bread, pastries, desserts, and sandwiches, Paris Baguette’s upcoming location at 6811 Bland Street will be its fifth in the Fairfax area, joining other sites in Tysons, Herndon, Fairfax City and Centreville.

Franchise co-owner Euna Lee told FFXnow that she and her parents approached the international chain about franchising last spring, following her return from a 15-year stint as a software consultant in London.

“We knew that they were expanding in the U.S., especially in the Northern Virginia area,” she said. “We thought it was a great opportunity.”

Since the area already has several locations, Lee, who grew up in Vienna, said she and her parents were assigned the Springfield area. After several months of searching, they landed a 2,902-square-foot space next to Talbots at the Tower Shopping Center, per a site plan.

Although construction has not yet begun, Lee and her parents are searching for a general contractor to start renovations soon. The hope is to open the new location as early as September.

“I did have a call with our Paris Baguette project manager earlier this week,” she said. “So, we’re sort of looking at getting a bid package together to send out to a few local general contractors to get estimates and bids.”

According to Lee, the interior will resemble other locations, with a design she described as “bright and airy” and a blue-and-white color scheme.

When customers enter, they will be greeted by an array of pastries displayed in a glass case, along with a selection of coffees, teas, and sandwiches. Additionally, Lee says they plan to offer cakes for various occasions.

“So, for any occasion, you’ll see different cakes decorated for each holiday, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day,” she said.
