Burlington is set to open its doors in Mount Vernon this weekend, offering the first 100 customers a $10 discount on their first purchase.

Formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, the discount retailer will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 28, at 7690B Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon Plaza outdoor shopping center to celebrate its new store’s grand opening.

The opening is part of a broader national expansion, with the retailer planning to open several dozen stores across the country, according to its website.

Currently, there are six other stores in the Northern Virginia area, including in Fairfax City, Dulles, Falls Church, Springfield and Tysons. This will be Burlington’s seventh store in Fairfax County.

Local news outlet On the MoVe reported that Burlington signed a lease for the 25,156-square-foot space last June. The location was formerly occupied by Bed Bath and Beyond, which was acquired by Overstock.com last year following a bankruptcy filing.

The promotional $10 discount will only be valid from Friday through Sunday (June 28-30). On Sunday, customers will receive a free Burlington umbrella while supplies last, according to a press release.
