Fitness and wellness gym Club Studio opens at Tysons West

A new option for those looking to get fit without having to endure the summer heat is now available in Tysons.

Club Studio has completed a $11 million retrofit of the former 24 Hour Fitness at Tysons West (1500 Cornerside Blvd A). The 48,891-square-foot gym opened for workouts just before the Fourth of July and began offering classes last Friday (July 5), the business announced on Instagram.

Featuring five boutique studio rooms, Club Studio provides instruction and equipment for strength training, boxing, cycling, hot yoga and pilates, along with free weights, cardio areas, recovery services and a medical spa.

The gym also has towel service, a retail area with apparel and supplies, and a Hard Work Pays Off training room with “specialized equipment and turf space specifically designed for performance and strength workouts while encouraging community training,” according to a press release.

“Club Studio continues to raise the bar with its newest club in Tysons Corner,” said Nick Roberts, chief real estate officer for Fitness International, Club Studio’s parent company. “Set within the confluence of living, shopping and office, the site presented us with the opportunity to reimagine an existing health club space that tailors to an active and discerning community. With abundant parking and convenient access, we are so excited to welcome members to experience Club Studio.”

Fitness International, which also owns the brands LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness and City Sports Club, introduced Club Studio in December 2022 with the launch of the first location in Irvine, California.

The concept blends fitness and wellness services with amenities varying by location. The Irvine gym, for example, includes a basketball court as well as the sauna, whirlpool and indoor swimming pool that can also be found in Tysons.

“Club Studio was developed as the standard for a multi-concept gym facility,” Roberts told FFXnow. “It is focused on creating an experience that provides value to our members by offering boutique fitness studios and upscale wellness amenities, all in one gym.”

With the Tysons opening, Fitness International now has four Club Studios with several more on the way, including a rebranding of a now-closed LA Fitness in Arlington. That location is under construction and expected to open to members late this fall or early in the winter.

Located on the third floor of the Walmart building in Tysons West, Club Studio is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Memberships start at $169 per month and include access to Fitness International’s other locations.

A planned mixed-use development near the Spring Hill Metro station, Tysons West is awaiting the opening of Umai Ramen and Donburi, a Japanese restaurant slated to replace District Taco. Property owner JBG Smith also got Fairfax County’s approval in May to construct a multi-family residential building on the currently undeveloped lot at 8740 Yard Street.
