Three people were killed in a single-vehicle crash on West Ox Road this morning (Tuesday), Fairfax County police say.

Officers were dispatched to the crash on southbound West Ox Road over Route 29 in the Legato area around 3:55 a.m., according to scanner traffic on Open MHz.

A dispatcher reported that the vehicle was on fire and at least one person was stuck inside. Responding units from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were told that the person in the vehicle was unconscious and not breathing.

By 4:06 a.m., responders determined that there were three people in the car and that all of them had died, per the scanner.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the driver was an adult man accompanied by two adult female passengers. A spokesperson confirmed there was a fire in the vehicle, but it didn’t reach the occupants.

“A small fire was reported, and it was put out before it reached the driver/passenger seats,” the FCPD’s public affairs bureau told FFXnow.

West Ox Road was closed in both directions, along with the ramps from Route 29 to West Ox, for the crash investigation. The road reopened around 8:14 a.m.

In a news release published at 10:30 p.m., the FCPD identified the driver as 46-year-old Reston rsident Corey Rogers and the passengers as 44-year-old Reston resident Angela Connor and 35-year-old Salma Monastra of Herndon.

“Preliminarily, detectives determined that the driver of a 2024 Acura Integra, Corey Rogers, 46, of Reston was traveling southbound on West Ox Road when he failed to negotiate a turn and struck a cement jersey wall,” the FCPD said. “…Detectives believe that speed and narcotics played a role in the crash.”

The crash remains under investigation.
