A discount clothing retailer appears to be coming soon to Tysons, right down the street from both Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria.
Pike 7 Plaza will be home to a J. Crew Factory store, according to permit applications submitted to Fairfax County. It will be located at 8387 Leesburg Pike, between the strip mall’s Lidl and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse stores.
The new store will sit in a 4,433-square-foot space — one of the smallest retail stores in the strip mall.
Launced in 1988 as a spin-off of the original J. Crew, J. Crew Factory traditionally sells discounted apparel items for men, women and children. Its parent company, J. Crew Group, filed for bankruptcy in 2020, but the New York Times reported last year that its new CEO “has stanched any obvious bleeding” with help from investors and a new line of credit.
The chain is no stranger to the D.C. area, operating more than a dozen locations across Virginia and Maryland. J. Crew Factory opened a store in Fair Lakes Shopping Center on July 18, replacing Lane Bryant and giving Fairfax County its only location at the moment.
J. Crew also has stores in Tysons Galleria and Reston Town Center. The company also previously had a store in Fair Oaks Mall.
A request for comment sent to J.Crew representatives went unanswered by publication time. A spokesperson for Federal Realty, which owns Pike 7 Plaza, said only that the developer will be in touch “when there’s news to share.”
