Honeygrow is creating a stir in Fair Lakes.

The fast-casual restaurant chain officially opened at 13044 Fair Lakes Shopping Center on Saturday (Aug. 24), serving up stir-fry bowls, salads and honey-drizzled desserts from its signature honeybar.

Located next to Chipotle, honeygrow can seat 35 people inside a roughly 2,500-square-foot suite that previously belonged to Allstate Insurance. Some outdoor seating is also available, a spokesperson says.

“We are thrilled to bring our brand to the Fairfax community as we continue to build a solid foundation in Virginia,” honeygrow founder and CEO Justin Rosenberg said in a press release. “Coming off the extremely positive opening late last year in Alexandria, we’re excited to continue our growth in Virginia with more openings slated in 2025 and beyond. The community has been amazing and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

Rosenberg launched honeygrow in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2012 with the goal of bringing “wholesome and simple” ingredients and a fine-dining mentality to the then-emerging fast-casual trend.

Supported by over $80 million in private equity investments, the company has expanded with more than 40 restaurants across seven states, mostly on the East Coast, though it recently signed leases for its first two Ohio locations.

With the Fair Lakes opening, honeygrow has four restaurants in Virginia — all of them in Fairfax County. The business can also be found at RTC West in Reston, Pike 7 Plaza in Tysons and Mount Vernon Plaza in Hybla Valley, where it opened ahead of schedule last November.

The company says a fifth Virginia restaurant is “on the way,” but the exact location hasn’t been announced yet. The first Ohio location is expected to open on Sept. 20, per honeygrow’s Instagram.

The menu consists of customizable stir-fry and salad bowls that can be loaded with a noodle, rice or vegetable base and mixed with proteins, toppings and a sauce or dressing. At the honeybar, patrons can top yogurt or another base with fruit, granola, brownie crumbles and other sweet add-ons.

The Fair Lakes location is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Other recent openings at Fair Lakes Shopping Center include J. Crew Factory, which had a grand opening on July 18 and is now planning a location in Tysons, and Bagel Joy, which opened its doors on July 21, slightly later than anticipated after a car crashed into their storefront in June.
