Local football players chosen to all-Liberty District teams

Runningbacks Robert Roncskevitz from the Langley Saxons, Ethan Lebkisher of the Marshall Statesmen and Ethan Buhler of the Herndon Hornets were chosen first-team all-Liberty District for their performances in football this fall.

Each was the leading rusher for his high-school team, helping all three earn 6D Northern Region playoff berths.

Other first-team all-Liberty offensive players from Fairfax County Schools were Herndon wide receiver Brayden Humphreys; offensive linemen Josh Tyner (Langley), Anders Peterson (Marshall) and Casey Speak (Herndon); and kicker/punter Logan Lopez (Herndon).

Second-team selections were quarterback Cole Samburg (Langley); runningback Noah Jander (McLean); wide receivers Vincent Shen (Langley) and Sebastian Carmenates (McLean); tight end Malcolm Levenberry (Herndon); and linemen Thomas Quinn (Herndon), James Ely (Marshall), Simon Rodham (Marshall) and Aidan Daly (Langley).

On defense, first-team linemen were Oliver Smith (Marshall), Khaleel Gbey (Herndon) and Nana Appouh (Herndon). Second-team linemen were Owen Slamowitz (Langley) and Will Lewey (McLean).

First-team linebackers were Roncskevitz (Langley), Lebkisher (Marshall), Donovan Willson (Herndon) and Carter Brown (McLean). Second-team linebackers were Cannon Clarke (Langley), Alec Beach (Herndon) and Kevin Aleman (Marshall).

First-team defensive backs were Ellington Roane (Langley) and Humphreys (Herndon). Humphreys also was chosen as the co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Second-team defensive backs were Ndalo Ndebele (McLean), Noah Martin (Herndon), Tyree Hogan (Herndon) and Chandler Bowles (Langley).

The first-team kick returner was Josh Paine (Marshall) with Beckett Brown (Langley) second team.

Humphreys (Herndon) was the first-team punt returner, with Roane (Langley) second team.
