Apricot Lane has arrived at Chesterbrook Shopping Center in McLean just in time for Christmas shopping to kick into full gear.

The clothing boutique opened yesterday (Thursday) at 6224 Old Dominion Drive, Suite 6F. The 1,987-square-foot store will be located in between another upcoming fashion store, Sassanova, and the restaurant Sorn Thai.

Though it was previously expected to open by the end of 2024, Sorn Thai is now on track for an early 2025 launch, according to Chesterbrook property owner and manager Federal Realty Investment Trust. Sassanova will open in the first quarter of 2025.

Started as a retail gift shop in Vacaville, California, in 1991, Apricot Lane opened its first boutique in 2007 and now has more than 130 existing and planned franchise locations across the U.S., though the McLean shop is its only one so far in Fairfax County.

All of the company’s stores are independently owned and operated. The McLean franchise is the second one started by Dana Dorrier, who launched her first location at Cabin John Village in Potomac, Maryland, in November 2023.

“[The Potomac store] has been so awesome and really a dream come true serving the community and styling so many of you amazing women and getting to know you. We have the best customers, and we are just loving being there and working with all of you, ” Dorrier said in an Oct. 20 Instagram post where she announced the expansion to McLean.

“We’re just going to bring all of the fun and style and goodness that we have at Potomac to Northern Virginia,” she added.

Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, Apricot Lane sells women’s clothes in limited quantities, bringing in new stock on a daily basis.
