The locally owned businesses at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston hope residents will still have an appetite for shopping after they get stuffed on Thanksgiving and scramble to take advantage of (or avoid) Black Friday.
Several shops at the plaza will offer discounts, specials and other deals throughout the day on Small Business Saturday, which falls this year on Nov. 30, according to OmBaked CBD Boutique, one of the participants.
“This is more than just a shopping day,” OmBaked owner Radhika Murari said in a press release. “Small Business Saturday is about celebrating the strength and creativity of our local entrepreneurs. Every purchase here supports not just a small business, but a dream, a family, and a neighbor.”
OmBaked, which opened at 11414 Washington Plaza West in fall 2023, will offer a buy one, get one 50% off discount on the cannabidiol-infused dark chocolate bars that it rolled out in October.

- Beauty Bar by Dina — 10% off highlights and balayage
- Kalypso’s Sports Tavern — Get a “free” $10 gift certificate with the purchase of a $50 gift card
Reston Museum will also participate by unveiling a new exhibit about the Reston Farmers Market, which operates from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through Dec. 7.
Murari, a Reston resident, has emerged as a regular promoter of all the businesses at Lake Anne Plaza, enlisting several of them for a “Second Sunday” initiative intended to generate more foot traffic with promotions.
The Small Business Saturday deals have a similar goal.
