A local diner chain will open its latest restaurant mere days before the calendar flips to 2025.
Bob & Edith’s Diner will start serving customers at 6451 Old Beulah Street in Newington on Dec. 27, business manager Rebekah Steele told FFXnow.
The 24-hour diner will open its doors at 7 p.m. in Hilltop Village Center.
“We are thrilled to announce our new location in Newington!” Bob & Edith’s owner Greg Bolton said by email. “We believe this area is perfect for our next 24-hour breakfast spot, addressing a real need in the community. Our concept aligns seamlessly with this vibrant neighborhood.”
Bob & Edith’s, which got its start back in 1969, has become a go-to spot for traditional diner favorites, offering numerous breakfast and lunch options.
The chain’s breakfast menu boasts a variety of egg, omelet and pancake options, plus seven different breakfast meat options.
For lunch, diners can choose from nearly three dozen different subs and sandwiches, as well as homemade meatloaf, signature country fried steak and much more.
The new restaurant, which replaces the former Dickey’s BBQ Pit, is the chain’s eighth location overall and third in Fairfax County, joining eateries in Springfield and Huntington. Other locations can be found in Arlington, Alexandria and Manassas.
According to Bolton, the eatery maintains the same menu across all of its locations. Positioned at the corner of Old Beulah Street and Hilltop Village Center Drive near Wegmans, the 2,221-square-foot restaurant in Newington will feature a “spacious” outdoor patio.
“We are very excited to join the Hilltop Village community and look forward to serving you soon,” Bolton said.
Other dining options in the shopping center include next-door neighbor Baddpizza, Panda Express, Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grill, Burtons Grill and Bar, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Peri-Peri.
