The golf season ended weeks ago, and the Virginia High School League has now released its official all-state Class 6 team for the 2024 fall campaign.
That 10-player golf squad included six from Fairfax County schools.
Owen Love of Edison High School, the 2024 individual Class 6 state champion, headed the list, with state runner-up Raquel Walker of Robinson Secondary School also among that group.
Love defeated Walker in a playoff at the state tourney, after the two tied for first with 2-under-par rounds of 70 in regulation play of the 18-hole competition.
Love also won the 2023 state crown, and this past fall season won the National District individual tournament title. He helped Edison finish second in the district.
Other all-state players from the county were Sophie Cao (third in the state) and Sarah Wang (sixth) of Langley High School, Robinson’s Sydney Dinh (tie for fourth) and C.G. Woodson’s Han Lee (seventh).
The six players finished among the top 10 in the state tournament.
Prior to the state, Cao was the 6D North Region individual champion and she also helped the team win region and state titles, along with Wang. Walker won the 6C North Region tourney and Love finished third.
