Seeding meeting on horizon for popular summertime swim league

The seeding meeting that will determine the setups of the 17 divisions for the 2025 Northern Virginia Swimming League summer season has been scheduled for Sunday, March 2 at Key Middle School in Springfield.

Representative from each of the league’s 102 teams will be present to discuss and arrange the divisions. There are six teams in each division.

Division line-ups will be announced in the weeks following the meeting. Key dates for the 2025 summer season can be found under the calendar section of the league’s website.

The NVSL’s five-week regular season dual-meet summer campaign is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 14 at 9 a.m. The remaining meets will at the same times each of the subsequent four Saturdays.

The regular season is followed by 17 divisional meets the morning of Saturday, July 19, followed by the league-wide individual all-star meet Saturday, July 26.

Squeezed between the Saturday regular-season meets will be divisional relay carnivals on Wednesday, July 2 and the league-wide all-star relay carnival on Wednesday, July 9.

The NVSL also has a diving league with five Tuesday evening dual meets for each of the 48 teams. The opening meet is Tuesday, June 15. There is a season-ending all-star meet Sunday, July 27 at Hunt Valley pool in Springfield.

The eight diving divisions already are set for the 2025 season.
