Rowan and Sweetgreen among new shops coming to Fairfax Corner in 2025

Fairfax Corner will kick off a long year of retail openings with three new arrivals this spring.

Both salad restaurant Sweetgreen and ear piercing studio Rowan expect to open their doors tomorrow (Tuesday), spearheading a list of half-a-dozen new storefronts scheduled to open in 2025.

As part of its grand opening festivities, which follow a soft opening last Saturday (March 29), Sweetgreen (4225 Fairfax Corner Avenue East) will feature live music and give away mini flower bouquets from a local company, according to a spokesperson.

“Sweetgreen started in the DMV 18 years ago, and we’re thrilled to keep growing with our 31st restaurant in the region,” Chief Development Officer Chris Tarrant told FFXnow. “We can’t wait to bring our fresh salads, warm bowls, and protein plates to Fairfax Corner!”

Rowan, which emphasizes safe piercing practices through its use of licensed nurses and hypoallergenic metal products, will open nearby at 4209 Fairfax Corner Avenue East.

The openings of Rowan and Sweetgreen follow that of Eutopia Dermatology, which began serving clients at 4211 Fairfax Corner Avenue East earlier this year.

Three other tenants are coming soon, including a clothing store, hair salon and local restaurant brand.

Coming this summer is the second Fairfax County location of Drybar, a national chain of hair salons best known for its blowouts. It will be housed at 11889 Grand Commons Avenue, which was formerly occupied by Belle Mode Intimates, a lingerie store.

Targeting a fall opening is the first Fairfax location of Ruthie’s All-Day, a popular spot boasting a modern twist on classic Southern cuisine. The restaurant at 11951 Grand Commons Avenue will be the company’s second after it debuted in Arlington in 2020.

Also slated to open “later this year” is J. McLaughlin, a clothing brand whose store will occupy more than 1,500 square feet in the shopping center.

“With the upcoming openings of Sweetgreen, Rowan, Ruthie’s All Day, and more, we are further enhancing the variety and caliber of our offerings, making Fairfax Corner an even more desirable destination for both visitors and residents,” Kimli Cross, senior vice president of leasing for property owner Peterson Companies, said.
