Sisters Thai expands Tysons offerings with grand opening of new cafe

Patrons at Sisters Thai in Tysons will be sipping plenty of tea this weekend.

After opening in Capital One Center last fall, the restaurant is expanding the offerings at its flagship location with the introduction of high tea service from its recently introduced Flore Café.

Available on Sundays starting April 6, which will serve as the cafe’s official grand opening, the high tea menu seeks to blend “European elegance with Thai-inspired flavors,” Sisters Thai said in a press release:

The menu features a curated selection of savory delights, including shrimp-infused gazpacho, truffle and parmesan gougères, and seared scallops, alongside delicate scones infused with lavender honey and champagne rose petals. Pastry selections include a beautifully crafted pot de crème, heart-shaped chocolate bars, and a refreshing strawberry lemon tart. To add a touch of Thai influence, guests will enjoy two mystery Thai bites, crafted daily by the chef using seasonal ingredients. Each experience is paired with a choice of premium teas from Bellocq Tea Atelier, including black, green, jasmine, and herbal varieties.

High tea service will cost $79 per person. For an additional $10 per person, customers can get “an elevated experience” that includes a glass of sparkling wine and the cafe’s signature champagne and rose petal or lavender honey scone.

While the service will initially only be offered on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sisters Thai says it plans to add more days in the future.

Located at 7735 Capital One Tower Road, the 8,300-square-foot Tysons restaurant is Sisters Thai’s largest location and its first to include Flore Café, which was adapted from Magnolia Dessert Bar and Coffee in Vienna.

In addition to afternoon tea service, the cafe serves brunch dishes like avocado toast and Thai shrimp scampi, savory and sweet crepes, desserts developed by pastry chef Oksana Chepoy, and Sisters Thai’s first-ever gelato line from chef Lorenzo Franchetti.

The cafe is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

“Flore Café is more than just a café — it’s a destination,” Sisters Thai co-founder Tammie Disayawathana said. “… Whether guests are indulging in high tea, savoring a perfectly brewed coffee, or enjoying a leisurely brunch, Flore offers a refined yet welcoming experience that sets it apart while embracing the warmth and charm that defines Sisters Thai.”

On top of introducing high tea service, Sisters Thai is also serving limited-time food and drinks inspired by the HBO show “The White Lotus,” whose current, Thailand-set season will conclude this Sunday.

The menu will be available through the end of April to celebrate Songkran, or Thai New Year, which falls annually on April 13, according to a Sisters Thai public relations representative.

“Drawing inspiration from Phuket’s pristine beaches and the Andaman Sea’s coastal flavors, these exclusive culinary offerings transport diners to Thailand’s most coveted island retreats, capturing the essence of tropical paradise while paying tribute to the luxurious escapism portrayed in the hit show,” the representative said.
