Vienna crepe shop to close after 13 years in the neighborhood

A long-standing tenant of Vienna’s Maple Avenue corridor is soon closing its doors for good.

Crepe Amour, which has served up the sweet and savory dishes for nearly 13 years at 407 Maple Avenue E, will stop serving customers at the end of April.

“This decision was not made lightly,” a letter on the store’s website reads, “but after thoughtful reflection, we’ve decided it’s time to step back and embrace new opportunities that allow us to focus on quality time with loved ones and pursue new passions.”

Established in 2010 in D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood before moving to the Fairfax suburb two years later, Crepe Amour has offered a full slate of sweet crepes and savory crepes, plus coffees, smoothies, milkshakes and more.

Despite threats to the business, including a fellow creperie opening nearby and the coronavirus pandemic, Crepe Amour continued to find success.

“Through economic challenges, shifting trends and countless uncertainties, we persevered, adapted and thrived — thanks entirely to the unwavering support of this extraordinary community,” the letter read.

The business will continue to offer its crepe station catering despite the closure of the brick-and-mortar location. Crepe Amour is also open to licensing the brand and menu, the letter said.

“Thank you for embracing us and making our little creperie part of your lives,” the letter reads. “Your support, stories and smiles have meant everything to us. This isn’t goodbye – it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.”
