One of the world’s most popular fast-casual brands will open a new Reston restaurant tomorrow, six years after closing its last neighborhood eatery.
Panera Bread is coming to 2401 Fulton Place, placing a grab-and-go option in the mixed-use development Halley Rise — located at the intersection of Reston Parkway and Sunrise Valley Drive near the Reston Town Center Metro station.
Panera is scheduled to open its doors at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, where the first 100 guests will receive a year’s worth of free meals under the brand’s “You Pick Two” option.
“We are thrilled to be opening the first Panera in Reston,” area operating partner Joel Duprey said. “We are excited to grow our presence in this wonderful community and look forward to delivering the great tasting food and impeccable service our local guests have come to expect from Panera.”
Though the new location will feature all of the menu items that longtime patrons have come to enjoy, there’s a hitch: the restaurant follows the brand’s new “urban format,” which is “geared toward serving guests on the go,” a spokesperson said.
The 3,255-square-foot cafe is designed with limited counter seating, a spokesperson said, and features updated ordering kiosks and a fully digitized menu.
But outside of that, much appears to be the same. The popular “You Pick Two” option, allowing customers to pick a combination of two half-sized entrees, returns, as does a wide variety of morning bagel options and much more.
Beginning Wednesday, the new Reston eatery will be open daily from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Panera Bread is the latest tenant at the mixed-use development complex, joining the likes of Chase Bank, Wegmans and more.
