A longtime tenant of the Shops at Fair Lakes plans to relocate this summer, though it won’t be going very far.
Paisano’s Pizza, which opened its very first location in the shopping center nearly 30 years ago, will be moving less than a mile away in the coming months, a representative for the shopping center told FFXnow.
The new restaurant, located at 12595 Fair Lakes Circle, will be less than a mile away from the current location — basically moving operations across Fairfax County Parkway.
The current restaurant at 12715 Shoppes Lane opened in June 1998 and was the first of many for the popular D.C.-area chain, which recently came in second in FFXnow’s Reader Choice poll of the best pizza spots in Fairfax County.
Paisano’s now boasts 36 locations across Virginia, D.C. and Maryland, including 11 in Fairfax County alone.
A public relations representative for Paisano’s confirmed that the business is relocating after 27 years in the Shops at Fair Lakes.
“The grand re-opening of its new flagship location will occur in the coming months,” the Paisano’s representative said.
The new location does appear to be larger, with Paisano’s flagship location growing from approximately 1,230 square feet to 1,600 square feet.
Paisano’s will fill a vacant storefront formerly occupied by Massage Envy in the East Market at Fairfax. It appears to be only the third eatery at the location, joining Pei Wei Asian Kitchen and a Starbucks.
No new tenant for the storefront in The Shops at Fair Lakes has been publicly announced, according to property manager Peterson Companies.
Despite a handful of other eateries at The Shops, Paisano’s was the lone option for Italian food. Remaining tenants include Jersey Mike’s Subs, McDonald’s and China Taste, among others.
