When a customer walks into Tippy’s Taco House, Lilibeth “Lily” Panlaqui often doesn’t even need to wait for them to order: She simply turns around and tells her husband, Rizal, who’s cooking in the kitchen, to get their regular order started. After nearly 30 years of working at the Centreville restaurant, Paniaqui not only knows her returning customers, she knows their grown-up children.

However, the couple will soon be in need of a new place of employment. After 40 years of serving budget meals in Centrewood Plaza, the local franchise will close its doors at 14119 St. Germain Drive permanently on June 14.

Months after an August 2025 fire, Glory Days Grill has decided to make its closure in Merrifield permanent.

The sports bar, located at the Providence Place shopping center (formerly the Pan Am Shopping Center), announced the closure in an email to customers. A Fairfax County notice posted outside the 3059 Nutley Street restaurant deemed it unsafe to occupy following the Aug. 22, 2025 kitchen fire.

The more things change in Tysons, the more they stay the same, it appears.

Food Corner Kabob House, located at 8315-B Leesburg Pike, closed last month after more than a dozen years in the Tysons Square shopping center. Signage has since appeared signaling a new tenant that will also be a kebab shop.

A longtime tenant of the Shops at Fair Lakes plans to relocate this summer, though it won’t be going very far.

Paisano’s Pizza, which opened its very first location in the shopping center nearly 30 years ago, will be moving less than a mile away in the coming months, a representative for the shopping center told FFXnow.
